SEO Case Study

I wanted to share my secret to getting lots of traffic to my website.

It’s actually what allows me to get free email signups every day on autopilot without ever having to pay for advertising.

Here’s a quick case study on a brand new website I built. About 95 visits in the last 7 days and 4 email subscribers.

It doesn’t sound like much but honestly, It’s a brand new website and I’ve only created about 17 blog posts for this free traffic and those numbers are literally growing every single day, its awesome. You can see my traffic trend line here. Notice how those numbers continue to climb.

So how am I able to get free traffic? The strategy is called topical authority blog posting. It’s one of the best inbound marketing strategies you can do in 2021 and 2022.

I simply write blog posts and publish them to Google. But there’s a little more to it then just that. Here’s my exact steps:

  1. Topical Clusters – I pick out a few categories that my potential customers are interested in learning about. Then I put together a quick content plan to build out blog posts, covering ALL of the possible questions that my customers would have about that topic. See, Googles algorithm is smart enough to read your blog posts before it indexes them to the search results. If you write everything their is to know about a particular subject, they’ll start to recognize you as the expert on those topics. Makes sense right? Google makes money by showing the most relevant search queries to it’s users.
  2. Keyword research – I use a few tools to find the keywords that my audience is searching for. I make sure that those keywords are low-competition, meaning there’s not a lot of traffic surrounding the topic, which makes my posts rank pretty quickly, and without building any backlinks
  3. Write the content – And then I just write the content. I type the keyword into google and then find all the “User also searched for” questions and “related questions” that Google shows me in the search results. I simply answer all of their questions in that one blog post.
  4. Email Optin – The last part of this is pretty simple, I create a lead magnet that helps my client achieve their results, the email magnet should be actionable and something they can actual use right away. I offer this for free and in return they give me their email. This allows to me reach back out to anyone that lands on my website, all without spending a dime on ads.

I offer this as a service to all my web design clients, but honestly if you have the time for it you could do it yourself. The results are there, you just have to put in the work.

If you really want to get amazing results, much better than the screenshots above I would recommend creating one post per day for 30 days. I like to keep them around 1,500 words roughly.

That’s insane! 595k website clicks in just 5 months.

The truth is though unless you have a lot of time on your hands, these results are pretty unlikely. You’d want to hire a team to do the keyword research, outlining and blog post writing for you.
